Moderation Overview
Fork provides bans, unbans, timeouts, warnings, moderation history and staff strikes. The public slash surface groups these under mod; retained prefix shortcuts call the underlying handlers.
Choose the right action
Section titled “Choose the right action”- Warn: record a formal warning with a reason.
- Mute: apply a Discord communication timeout.
- Ban: remove and ban a user; optional message deletion is destructive.
- Logs: inspect a member’s server moderation record.
- Staff strikes: record disciplinary concerns; a threshold recommends review, not automatic demotion.
Before acting
Section titled “Before acting”Verify the server, target and reason. Native Discord permission, Fork role policy and target hierarchy all matter. An allowed role rule does not override Discord’s bot-role position.
After acting
Section titled “After acting”Read the result and inspect the ledger. A blocked target DM is not necessarily a failed action. Conversely, a timeout or uncertain external result is not proof nothing happened. Do not repeat a mutation until Discord state and records are reviewed.
Fork does not currently provide a general AutoMod rule builder. Do not confuse command-based moderation with that unsupported interface.
