Guide v1

Initial Setup

Setup configures Fork’s command-role policy. It is not a silent rewrite of Discord’s native role permissions, and it does not automatically enable AI in every channel.

/setup mode:fork

Fork mode starts or resumes the persistent recommendation lifecycle. Review the proposed access before applying it. The current permission recommendation implementation uses deterministic role analysis; do not assume a model invented or verified every grant.

/setup mode:manual

Manual mode opens the dashboard’s Role Permissions continuation. A valid permission save completes the relevant setup step; opening the dashboard alone does not.

  1. Run setup as a current Administrator in the intended server.
  2. Resolve any preflight blockers before continuing.
  3. Review role access, including moderation and administrative commands.
  4. Apply the reviewed recommendation or save a valid manual configuration.
  5. Enable AI only in chosen channels and verify a harmless interaction.

Running setup again may restore an awaiting-approval recommendation or show completed status. Use the offered reconfiguration controls to intentionally revisit completed setup. A failed/stale apply should be inspected before retrying. See Common setup problems.
