AI Tools and Command Permissions

AI tools allow a request to use implemented capabilities, such as search, moderation or scheduling. Availability is a policy choice, not authority granted to the model.

Configure an entry

Tools set requires Manage Server. Its command input resolves a loaded handler name or alias, not a slash string with a leading slash.

/tools set command:search mode:ai

• ai: return execution output to the model for synthesis.
• direct: post the command’s output directly.
• remove: disable the saved entry.

Use tools list to inspect configuration and tools remove to remove an entry. The dashboard also exposes the tool catalog and bulk controls.

Permissions still apply

Fork checks the caller’s native Discord permissions, stored role policy, current intent and tool restrictions. Grouped slash presentation retains the original leaf policy key. Enabling a tool cannot make a moderator a server Administrator or override role hierarchy.

A command appearing in a catalog is not proof that every AI bridge route supports every variant. Inspect actual tool results and known limitations. Operator-only interfaces are not general-purpose public tools.
